Above are two demo scenes to help you get a feel for Perspective and some of its capabilities. We are currently working on more scenes that will show more animations, and interactive lights. In order to run the demo scenes, you must first download and install VantagePoint Perspective.

Demo Scene 1 is 6.7mb and shows a basic office complex with a car driving around the parking lot. The building, terrain and animation were built in 3DS Max 4. All of the culture on the site was placed in Perspective using the VantagePoint culture.

Demo Scene 2 is 6 mb and shows the effects of volumentric lighting and texture baking from 3DS Max 5.

Opening the Demo Scene

To run a demo scene, decompress the zip file and double click the VPS file . This will launch Perspective and load the demo scene. Basic functions are listed below. Full instructions on operating Perspective can be found in the help manual. This can be launched through Perspective or by opening the file VantagePoint_Help.chm.

Perspective Basics:

Perspective's motion model is much like a video game. It requires the use of both the keyboard and the mouse. The keyboard controls your lateral movement and the mouse controls your ability to look around and the scroll wheel adjusts the speed. The keyboard controls are laid out as follows:

Q   Vertical rotation up
E   Vertical rotation down
W   Move Forward
S   Move Backward
A   Move Left
D   Move Right
X   Toggle Free Look
Home   Reset camera to center of first object
Page Up   Scrolls forward through camera list
Page Dn   Scrolls backward through camera list

*Note: The arrow keys on your keyboard will also move you forward, backward, left, and right.

There are two independent cameras in the Demo Scene 1. One camera is following the Audi driving around the parking lot. The other is inside the car. To activate these cameras, use the Page Up and Page Dn keys. Page Up will scroll forward through the list and Page Dn will go backward until you return to the original view.
