VantagePoint™ welcomes you to try our product for 30 days. By downloading our installer, you can either run Perspective in free mode (with only the ability to view Perspective files [VPS] and not create them) or you can register it and enjoy the full benefits of Perspective. Please see our system requirements to insure you have the proper equipment. Full electronic documentation comes with the free viewer and is located by selecting Help -> Perspective Help in Perspective or under the VantagePoint heading in the start menu.
To obtain a 30 day license with the downloaded version, select License -> License Perspective from the menu bar in Perspective. This will display a request code that you can either e-mail at register@vantagepointtechnologies.com or call 1-800-301-2188. Due to download considerations, the version on the web site does not contain our culture or video tutorials. The tutorial videos can be downloaded from the web site, but the culture is only available by CD. Please fill out our evaluation form to receive a full version of Perspective with our manual.
VPS Demo Scenes [view]
VantagePoint™ now offers 2 demos that demonstrate some of the functionality of Perspective. We are working to demonstrate more of our features and also create tutorials so you can create them yourself. Some instructions are already included in the artist manual section of the e-documentation as well as sample files. Sample files and video tutorials are only available with the full version of Perspective.
Demo Video (6.6mb, DivX)
Our demo video is an movie file that shows the quality and interactivity of Perspective. We used a screen capture program in order to record a fly through of one of our customer's data set, courtesy Minoru Yamasaki Associates. The video is for those who wish to view an example of Perspective without installing it.
*The video requires DivX to be installed. DivX is a free compression utility and you can get it at www.divx.com.
Perspective's Basic Motion:
Perspective's motion model is much like a video game. It requires the use of both the keyboard and the mouse. The keyboard controls your lateral movement and the mouse controls your ability to look around (like turning your head) and the scroll wheel adjusts the speed. The keyboard controls are laid out as follows:
Q Vertical rotation up
E Vertical rotation down
W Move Forward
S Move Backward
A Move Left
D Move Right
X Toggle Free Look
Home Reset camera to center of first object
F9 Zoom To Selected Object
*Note: The arrow keys on your keyboard will also move
you forward, backward, left, and right.
